About Sanilac County Criminal History

Sanilac County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, two county courts, the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, the Michigan Department of Corrections, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. We created this private reference resource to make those lines easier to follow. Readers can identify the office that owns a record and move to its official portal, counter, or telephone channel without treating several different government products as one master file.

Why We Built This Site

Michigan offers several public access routes, yet each answers a different question. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office keeps sheriff incident, arrest, and jail material. The 73A District Court and 24th Circuit Court maintain the public case trail. Michigan State Police runs ICHAT through its Criminal Justice Information Center, while the Michigan Department of Corrections and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry cover separate corrections and registration records. This resource brings the verified office contacts, portals, fees, and request routes into a clear local framework.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: verified routes to the Sanilac sheriff, county courts, and statewide Michigan systems
  • Record guides: practical ways to locate and read Sanilac County criminal court cases
  • Official check details: the different roles of ICHAT name searches and fingerprint-based personal record review
  • Record relief basics: where Michigan set-aside applications begin and how Clean Slate affects public access

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Michigan court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those limits matter:

  • We cannot issue a certified court record, criminal history, or booking file
  • We do not run official checks or retrieve a person's record
  • We cannot submit a set-aside filing, FOIA request, or court form for a reader
  • We do not give legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or case
  • We cannot promise that an agency's hours, fees, contacts, or procedures will never change

An official copy must come from the Sanilac County office or Michigan agency that created and maintains the record.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its own service, results, prices, and terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral payment that supports this resource. We do not set the provider's charges, assemble its data, or decide which results it returns.
